How to Prepare For Confirmation

Welcome Confirmation Candidates Preparing for Confirmation at St. Thomas Church
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a gift, and one must be open to receive it. A joyful time, when as one of the three Sacraments of Initiation it “perfects baptismal grace” joining us more firmly into Christ. The gifts of the Holy Spirit help us live more fully as disciples of Jesus Christ, strengthening our bond with the mission of Christ.
Confirmation PreparationYoung people seeking to be Confirmed must have:
- received the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist,
- minimally be in Grade 10 or 15 years old,
- participated in a faith formation program for at least 1.5 years prior to Confirmation preparation,
- participated in at least 30 H.O.P.E hours (scroll down for H.O.P.E opportunities),
- be willing to participate fully in the preparation for Confirmation,
- attend a Confirmation Retreat (2026 Dates: Jan. 24 or 25, 1pm-6pm)
Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation builds on the MS/HS Discipleship Formation Program and includes a Confirmation Conversation, a series of in-class discussion sessions, participation in prayer opportunities, attendance at a Confirmation retreat, and service through our St.Thomas Discipleship /Youth Ministry program also known as H.O.P.E Hours.

Sponsor: Sponsors must be Catholic, Confirmed, and ready & willing to help you make your Confirmation! Please have your Sponsor fill out the Sponsor Form:Prayer: Continue to participate in our Parish prayer opportunities.
Talk with your sponsor about your prayer life.

Please use the Examination of Conscience guide to help you experience the Grace and Peace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
