    • An Outline of Our Discipleship Formation Program

The MS/HS Discipleship Formation program at
       St. Thomas has 3 components,
        prayer, service and instruction.

      Prayer & Service

H.O.P.E: Help Others, Pray, Encourage Service: 15 hours per year offered in the spirit of the Works of Mercy and Catholic Social Teaching.

Prayer -Attending Mass and other parish opportunities for worship.

All service activities are to follow the Corporal & Spiritual Works of Mercy

       1) Feed the Hungry
       2) Shelter the Homeless
       3) Clothe the Naked
       4) Visit the sick and imprisoned
       5) Give alms to the poor
       6) Pray for the living and the dead
       7) Offer Encouragement

Our Active Youth Ministry integrates faith, fun with friends, and service.

" Before all else, the poor need God and his love, made visible by “the saints next door”, people who by the simplicity of their lives express clearly the power of Christian love."
Pope Francis, Third World Day of the Poor Message

      Instruction:
       12 sessions per year

      (6 weekly dates in October/November and 6 in February/March)

      Attendance Policy:
The Prayer and Service component are completed by attending Youth Ministry and Parish led activities.  H.O.P.E Reflection will be discussed during the Fall and Spring Instruction sessions.
The Instruction component has a floating day policy. That means if you cannot make class on your normally scheduled day, you may attend another class that week. By offering the floating day policy attendance at all instruction sessions is required.

For extenuating circumstances make-up work may be completed.
Make-up work must be completed prior to end of the Fall and Spring semesters. For each Make-up session there is an additional H.O.P.E hour.
