Join us on Friday, November 18 at 6 pm at St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Schenectady for this month's installment of the new Furthering Your Faith series. Fr. Dan McHale will be delivering a talk entitled, "I Confess! This is Mercy. This is Forgiveness. This is Sacrament." The talk will be followed by an opportunity for questions. From 7 to 8 pm, Fr. McHale will lead a Holy Hour. Priests will be available to hear confessions during this time. Furthering Your Faith is a collaboration between parish networks in the Capital Region, offering monthly lectures on a variety of topics germane to Catholic life. Each one-hour talk will be followed by a period of prayer, featuring an hour of Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction. These events are free of charge and open to all ages.
Saturday, – includes Catholic Mass (3:30-4:30pm) Join us for a day-long Christian retreat hosted by The Joshua Foundation and inspired by the movie, The Chosen. Lead by Sr. Dorothy Ederer, O.P. and Deacon Gary Riggi, the retreat will show movie clips to inspire reflection and discussion about Jesus and his Apostles. Come and spend a day strengthening your faith and relationship with Jesus. The retreat will conclude with a special Joshua liturgy mass (featuring the Joshua Music Ministers) for retreat participants. November 19 from 10 am to 4:30 pm at St. Matthew’s Church, Voorheesville NY. $50 per person includes retreat, lunch and a new book. We are so blessed to have among us carpenters: Rick Barnes, Daniel Ryan, Joe Catalano, Dan and children Abby & Eli Proper, construction muscle: Ted and son Liam Witting and blacksmith, Jim Moran who worked together to create our church libraries located on Delaware Ave. & Adams Place. We pray the libraries will serve as an invitation to our neighbors to Reconnect and Rejoice with our parish family. Please note we are a borrowing library only. An evening of music, inspiration and learning to address anxiety and mental health of our youth, their friends and families will take place at St. Edward the Confessor Church on Nov 18 at 6:30 pm. Registration begins at 6 pm.
