St. Thomas the Apostle Church is hosting, on Tuesday, June 27 at 6 pm, this month's installment of the Furthering Your Faith series. Fr. Stephen Yusko will be giving a talk entitled "Pride," which will be followed by a Holy Hour from 7-8 pm. Priests will be available to hear confessions during this time. Furthering Your Faith is a collaboration between parish networks in the Capital Region, offering monthly lectures on a variety of topics germane to Catholic life. Each one-hour talk will be followed by a period of prayer, featuring an hour of Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction. These events are free of charge and open to all ages.

The Catholic Moms Faith and Fellowship Group is an organization for Catholic mothers who would like meet other Catholic mothers who share their faith. The group meets for prayer (and Mass on occasion), conversation and refreshments. Babysitting is provided for the children. The Diocese of Albany is hosting the Step Up Men's Conference on Saturday, August 12 from 8:30-5 pm at the Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville. The Step Up Men's Conference will give men the tools needed to grow in holiness in their everyday lives. The event will include presentations from Fr. Larry Richards and Deacon Darrell Miller, Reconciliation, Adoration, Rosary, and 4 pm Mass. The purpose of this event is to grow in our relationship with Christ and establish a plan to bring this energy back to our families and parish families. As you may know there was a major fire in our town which resulted in a large number of families being displaced and left, in some cases, homeless. While the Red Cross has assisted those at the Deer Run Apartments, more is needed. The Slingerlands Fire Department is holding a fund raising breakfast to be held on behalf of these folks. The breakfast will be held Sunday, June 18 from 8am to noon at the Slingerlands firehouse, 1520 New Scotland Road.
